- I love Israel & I love to share the places where biblical events occured. I can be a little hard on some of the traditional sites, which have no archaeological basis(especially in Jerusalem), particularly when they seem to detract from the story itself. I hope my Catholic and Orthodox readers will forgive me for my forthright impressions. This is the perfect land for teaching the bible. St. Jerome called it the fifth gospel. When your eyes are opened to a deeper understanding of the text because, for example, you've just seen what a real "mill-stone" looks like, you'll know what I mean.
